The problem faced by Poundland before the Whitham Mills install was their old balers were struggling to produce tonnage so they were not maximising the potential returns of their exported cardboard. On top of this, they had an aging system with ever increasing downtime.
Whitham Mills completed a full site survey and devised a completely bespoke recycling solution for Poundland which included a new GB1108 fully automatic cardboard baler alongside a Whitham Mills feed conveyor which feeds directly into a oversized hopper and a D-Blocker installed ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum and they get maximum tonnage in each and every bale.
This project was a multi-site install where by two fully automatic cardboard baling systems were installed. The outcome for Poundland is they are now exceeding 20 tonnes per hour across the two sites and constantly producing bales in excess of 750kg.
