Bradford Council

Project details:

  • • GB1108F fully automatic baler with extra-large open hopper for direct loading

Timespan: 2 Weeks

What they asked us: How can we maximise material payload in the most cost-effective way?

Following the success of a public tender, we won a contract for Bradford Council to supply a fully automatic baling system.

Bradford council set out to streamline their recycling process and their handling of an estimated 20,000 tonnes per annum of loose materials collected from households in the district.

Previous to the install Bradford Council collected mixed recyclables at kerbside, sorted and then bulked-up in a loose state to be shipped out. By installing a Whitham Mills fully automatic baler they can now maximise their material payload in the most cost-effective and efficient way.

Their new system now produces in excess of 10 bales an hour, each consistently weighing 500kg.
